Biography

It only took Norwegian band Minor Majority a pair of albums for them to establish both distant and close links between them France. Distant geographically. Close because their « Up for You and I » has as muh surprised us as it had charmed us. First, the voice, Pål Angelskår's, deep and sensual, full of majesty at times, recalling Stuart Staple (tinderstick) or Michael Stipe (R.E.M). Then the music, folk calm, melancholic and foggy. Finally the band, very charismatic on stage, always paying attention to their audience, charming and carrying them away. Remember that time at Café of the Danse ('chatterbox' Pål !), in Rennes or Toulon.

With « Reasons to Hang Around », 4th album still produced by Andreas Berczelly with the participation of elegant guitarist Jon Arild Stieng, Minor Majority pursue their ballad \\ 13 songs including all the ingredients of « Up For You and I » with an affirmed Pal's voice who doesn't shy away anymore like it used to on some songs. The arrangements are thoroughly crafted, ambiances slightly softened to give this charming music more texture, like a nice glass of cool water after the effort. As usual, guests come and visit, violins, harmonica, vocals : Thom Hell makes « Don't Say You Love Me » soar and Maria Salheim sets trouble on « Keep Coming Around » \\ despite the success waiting for them in Norway (the album just entered at 2nd place in the charts), Minor Majority remains a warm welcoming familial house where you always feel good.
