Jon Smithis a long time activist of the Bordeaux pop scene. Author of several albums confidentially distributed, he often combines his guitars with ones of Calc with whom he shares the love of swaying melodies. As for Charlotte Jubert, she is a student. Their encounter happened among band d.o.l.l.a.r.$ where she was a backing singer. Jon Smith then gradually saw the possibilities emerge to make real an old project he'd had on his mind for years. As a poetry amateur, he brings on texts which seem likely to be put into songs.
Texts that he didn't write himself. For the most part, they were written in the last part of the XIXth century. Paul Verlaine of course, Sully Prudhomme, Jean Richepin, Jean Moréas, Léon Valade, Catulle Mendès, or Emile Verhaeren who wrote like no one writes today any longer. Dark grey atmospheres, often charming, at times eerie, always light-hearted. Cordebrève gives these poems beautiful pop melodies and luxurious orchestration. Charlotte also offers her diaphanous voice with stunning tranquillity, like a carnal enveloppe both fragile and troubling, seizing the words with grace and subtlety.
