Produced by Dale, ‘We're becoming islands one by one' (THE SLEEPING YEARS debut album) features songs influenced by the language and culture of his home in Ireland. Dale sings of people trying to stay connected in a world seemingly designed to keep them apart. The album even features a Dictaphone recording of his father speaking by the lockkeeper's cottage where he grew up.
The album was recorded in The Smokehouse by Ian Dowling and at The 22nd House by Dale. It was mastered at Skye Mastering by Denis Blackham.
